
The poltical responsibilities of members of the Department of Education and Children have been announced.
Minister Tim Crookall MHK has three colleagues working alongside him, David Anderson MHK, and MLCs Geoff Corkish and Tony Wild.
Mr Anderson is going to take charge of sport, being described by Tim Crookall as a "keen sportsman" who will oversee significant sporting activity such as the Commonwealth Games in July and a bid to host the 2016 British Cycling National Road Championship.
Mr Anderson will also oversee the Youth Service and estates, which includes an extensive ongoing building programme at the College, Ballakermeen and the proposed Henry Bloom Noble Primary School.
Geoff Corkish will be responsible for the arts which now comes under the control of the Education Department and Tony Wild will have responsibility for vocational training within education, complementing his role as a political member for the Employment and Skills Division of the Department of Economic Development.
The former banker will also drive forward economic initiatives and be responsible for student award appeals.
