Minister confident 'efficiencies' can be found in Manx Care
The auditor general has been invited to review Manx Care’s finances as part of efforts to find ‘efficiencies’.
The Department of Health and Social Care has asked Stephen Warren to be ‘another pair of eyes’.
Minister Lawrie Hooper says, ultimately, it’s the department’s job to ensure the health body is operating within its ‘financial envelope’; this year that stands at £354 million.
He told the Public Accounts Committee this week Manx Care, and DHSC, would welcome a different viewpoint:
