Karen Malone steps down after four months
The chief executive at the Department of Health and Social Care has stood down and is leaving Isle of Man Government.
Karen Malone has resigned with immediate effect - she took up the post in January.
Stuart Quayle, the current chief registrar, will assume the role of interim chief executive as a result.
In a statement Ms Malone said: "While I have enjoyed working in the public sector for more than 20 years an opportunity has presented itself which will enable me to pursue personal interests.
"I sincerely thank all those who have provided me with support, encouragement and development opportunities during my career with the public service."
She was one of the people that gave evidence during the tribunal of former medical director Dr Rosalind Ranson.
At the time she told Manx Radio her department ‘absolutely’ had to recognise the impact the employment tribunal had had both internally and externally.
