Minister says department was an 'afterthought'
The health and social care minister says he’s ‘comfortable’ that things are getting better across health and care services.
Lawrie Hooper has told the Public Accounts Committee that he believes his department was ‘an afterthought’ after the creation of Manx Care.
The health body took over operational delivery in April 2021 with the DHSC responsible for strategy, policy, oversight and assurance.
Mr Hooper says he believes both are now in a better place:
