Report criticises several aspects of Island health service
The Department of Health and Social Care says it's already working to improve facilities, after a new report found several services to be lacking.
The West Midlands Quality Review Service criticised areas such as stroke and imaging services, inpatient care at Ramsey Cottage Hospital, and community mental health provisions.
Elsewhere, the renal unit at Noble's Hospital was labelled 'not fit for purpose' - posing an apparent infection control risk, and compromising patients' privacy.
The DHSC admits there is room for improvement, but Medical Director Dr Jugnu Mahajan (ma-HAR-jan) says some areas are already being tackled:
