
House to house enquiries have been carried out in Castletown as police try to find out who was responsible for tens of thousands pounds worth of damage in the town.
Officers yesterday (Tuesday) retraced the route of the vandalism which happened during the early hours of Saturday morning.
More than 30 cars were badly damaged and several pots and flowers destroyed in the attacks, stretching from Janet’s Corner, down Bowling Green Road, via Pickard Close, Smetana Close, Athol Terrace, Northcroft Apartments, Malew Street and The Crofts.
Properties where officers were unable to speak to the occupants yesterday had a leaflet posted through the letterbox asking them to contact police on 822222.
TThree men in their teens or early 20s were seen in the Crofts at around 3am on Saturday causing damage to one vehicle – they are described as of slim or athletic build, wearing dark clothing with hoods over their heads.
