Minister presents vision for online future
Debate is underway in Tynwald on the government's long-term plan for a major expansion of digital technology in the public sector.
Policy and Reform minister John Shimmin presented the Digital Strategy as a landmark 'route map' to develop online services and more efficient ways of working.
He said the strategy is a blueprint for the future designed to streamline government, offer high quality online services to the public and make efficiency savings.
The strategy will be put to the vote after what has become a lengthy debate - which has dwelt at times on the security of electronic data.
