Police spotted 39-year-old in McDonalds drive-thru
A disqualified driver from Douglas will be sentenced next month after police caught him behind the wheel of a van in the McDonalds drive-thru.
James Marcus Doherty, of Murrays Road, was stopped by officers in an unmarked car just before 9.45pm on 10 June.
During the arrest they noticed he smelt of intoxicants, his eyes were glazed and his speech was slurred – the 39-year-old failed a subsequent roadside breath test.
At Douglas Courthouse Doherty admitted drink driving, driving whilst disqualified and having no insurance.
A social enquiry report has been requested before he’s sentenced on 25 July; he’s been bailed until that date.
Update: At a court appearance on 8 August sentencing in this case was adjourned to a date to be set.
