Issue with aircraft sees services affected for second day in a row
An issue with the Isle of Man Post Office provider's airplane means no airmail left or arrived on the Island last night for the second day in a row.
Local to local and sea mail has been unaffected.
A spokesperson told Manx Radio: "There is no ongoing issue with the mail plane but as is the nature of aircraft, technical faults can arise, often at last minute, meaning it can be difficult for the provider of the mail plane to source a replacement."
"In addition, weather conditions can cause the aircraft to experience delays and cancellations. Subject to the notice period, the contingency for airmail is for it to be transported to the Island via road and sea.”
