Animal succumbs to injuries following rescue
A dog died from its injuries after falling off a cliff yesterday, says Port Erin Coastguard.
The team was called out just before 9am to a report of the dog and a sheep going over a cliff at a remote section of coast near the Sloc.
Two cliff technicians went down and rescued both animals.
The coastguard says the owner did the right thing and called them rather than try and get it themselves.
You're being reminded to keep dogs on leads near cliff edges and livestock.
If your dog becomes stuck on the coast dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
