Budget yet to be determined but designs on display in Sea Terminal
It's hoped work to redevelop the walkway on Douglas promenade will begin before the next election, but it's important to have the right timeframe and design in place.
That's from the infrastructure minister after images showing what the area could look like went on display at the Sea Terminal.
When asked about the budget for the work, by Manx Radio, Chris Thomas couldn't give a figure but confirmed it would be in the millions.
As well as improving the area for pedestrians the project will include work to the sea wall and flood defences.
Mr Thomas says it is important to get right before work begins:
