DOI says regeneration work in capital 'ongoing'
The Department of Infrastructure says Chester Street car park has received significant investment in recent years, including interior redecoration, the refurbishment of the public toilets and installation of new passenger lifts.
In a statement this morning, (Thurs 26) the DOI says it's sorry Shoprite is to vacate the Chester Street store this weekend as it's worked closely with the company for many years.
It adds that an ongoing programme of regeneration work in the town centre continues and it now looks forward to forging a strong relationship with new tenants.
Re-paving Castle Street is scheduled to be completed in October, with the promenade project due to start in September.
The statement ends, "these are exciting times in the capital and reinforce government’s multimillion-pound commitment to creating a modern, vibrant environment."
