The Department of Infrastructure has defended its decision to close the Sea Terminal on Sunday night, leaving TT visitors sleeping rough outside.
Comments on Facebook from TT visitors and fans have been highly critical of the decision, which was taken at midnight on Sunday.
The department says the building only stays open during TT if there is an overnight ferry arriving or departing.
In a statement on Facebook, the DoI says it can’t let the Sea Terminal be used for overnight accommodation because no staff are there.
And it adds by Sunday evening there would have been hotel, homestay or camp site accommodation available to visitors.
