Union accuses Bus Vannin of trying to amend terms and conditions
The Department of Infrastructure has denied claims of 'unlawful conduct' in employment negotiations with bus drivers.
Unite has accused Bus Vannin of trying to directly amend terms and conditions, which were agreed nine months ago through collective bargaining.
This has been rejected by the department, which says in June staff were offered the option to voluntarily change terms through the Manx Industrial Relations Service.
It says no bus drivers have been asked to leave the collective bargaining arrangements.
Formal complaints have been filed by Unite to the Employment and Equality Tribunal - the DoI says it will robustly defend any claims.
The dispute comes as the department is looking to save money on the cost of providing bus services.
It claims it's tried for months to secure a union agreement which doesn't lead to redundancies or loss of services, but it couldn't be reached.
