MHK believes Dept has a "vested interest" in avoiding landlord regulation
The Department of Infrastructure has a vested interest in not imposing regulation on itself as a public sector landlord.
That's the view of Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, who wanted the proposed Landlords Registration Bill for private housing to be considered by a committee.
While he failed to gain support for the move, he says the forthcoming laws still need a number of changes.
Mr Hooper believes the DoI doesn't want to face the same scrutiny it's proposing:
Contractors to start installing 20mph signs in Douglas and Onchan
Road closures in place following incident in Hillberry area
Accessible bus stops rolled out across Bus Vannin network
£1 million National AI Office launched to coordinate artificial intelligence policy and adoption
Confusion over cause of issues for IOM residents selling on Vinted
