Number 28 route scrapped for financial reasons
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed it held talks with a private operator, the Department for Enterprise and Manx National Heritage over the future of a bus route for Cregneash.
The number 28 route was axed as it was considered to no longer be financially viable, despite concerns over the impact this will have on tourists.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall says various conversations took place with DfE and Manx National Heritage, but no offers for funding were received.
Discussions also took place with a private operator with respect to a commercial service, but the proposals did not progress.
