Marketing promotions providing new revenue streams
Public support may be the reason why horse tram cash revenue is up - but marketing promotions are providing new revenue streams.
That's the line from support group Friends of Douglas Bay Horse Tramway - which says the service has improved since the Department of Infrastructure stepped in.
The DoI will be asking for Tynwald support to continue its efforts during the 2017 and 2018 seasons this month.
A cash test indicated revenue was up by 64 per cent between 30 April and 3 July on last year.
Member Stuart Mullan says there are more plans in the pipeline:

Person suffers 'significant injuries' in 'serious assault' near Peel
Business case for horse trams to be put before Tynwald in July
Plans to turn 'underused space' in central Douglas into wellness retreat
Employment grievance 'upheld' against board of Peel Commissioners
2026 Parish Walk takes place today
