Just three out of 49 applicants saved enough money to buy a property
The Department of Infrastructure has promised to return with new proposals after the mid-rent pilot scheme was pulled for failing to gain traction.
The initiative was set up to help those saving a deposit to buy a house put money aside while also paying rent.
Of the 49 people who applied for the scheme in the five years it was running, three people saved enough to get on the property ladder.
