Means testing to be considered before next spring
An MHK says the views of local authorities are 'usually ignored' when it comes to social housing rents.
Rob Callister - a former Onchan commissioner - was speaking on this morning's Mandate programme (Wed)
An increase in rent is proposed for next April.
The rates are determined by the Department of Infrastructure.
Minister Ray Harmer yesterday told the House of Keys that means testing would be considered before the spring.
But Mr Callister said the DoI often overlooks input from councillors and commissioners:
