MNFU says some assume lambs have been abandoned
Do not interfere with livestock when out walking across the Isle of Man.
That's the warning from the Manx National Farmers Union (MNFU) which says some people despite good intentions have taken or interfered with lambs assuming they've been abandoned by their mothers.
The organisation adds lambs are usually 'perfectly fine' and their parents are often grazing nearby especially in hill areas where they can be kept well hidden.
Emphasising that the bond between lamb and mother is 'vital for the welfare of both', MNFU states if you see something of concern contact the farmer or the police.
