Crogga's licence expired after it failed to agree to an extension

The infrastructure minister is advising residents not to read anything into a post online seeking engagement with a private business to fulfil a role similar to the North Sea Transitional Authority.

It would involve managing the Island’s potential energy resources and ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible extraction of hydrocarbons.

Dr Michelle Haywood was speaking on Manx Radios Breakfast Show when she was asked about the advert. 

She admitted that it was pushed through as her department was working on legislation needed for Crogga to progress, assuming the company would agree to extend its licence.
