Two terrapins found at Scarlett Quarry
The Manx Wildlife Trust is addressing the negative impacts of a growing trend to release terrapins into the wild.
Two of the creatures have been found at Scarlett Quarry.
In a post on social media, the charity hints this could be because the pets are oversized or unwanted, which leads to people releasing them into local ponds and waterways.
It's caused concern for the organisation, which says it can have a negative impact on native wildlife and also cause stress and suffering for the creatures.
If you see a terrapin in the wild, you're asked to report its location to DEFA and Vannin Reptilia.
