Residents warned about fraudster
Douglas residents are being urged to be on the lookout for a bogus housing officer.
Police say someone claiming to work for Douglas Borough Council has reportedly been calling at addresses to conduct house inspections without any prior warning.
The Douglas Housing Office says all visits to tenants' addresses will be by prior appointment only, with the last appointment of a day usually no later than 4.30pm.
It adds all staff will have official identification.
If you're suspicious of a someone calling at your address or addresses in your area, ring the council's housing office on 696435 or the police via 631212.
