Auldyn says investigations have revealed 'fragile pipework'
There's a further delay to the reopening of Broadway linking traffic onto and off Douglas promenade.
The Department of Infrastructure says the set back is a result of a 'complex decommissioning of an old gas main'.
Auldyn Construction hopes to extend the Broadway closure as 'early investigations' it says 'have shown how fragile the pipework is'.
Meanwhile the water and gas mains have now been completed for the project, which serve more than 9,000 residents as well as businesses in the area.
Manx Utilities has also replaced a new wider water main, which extends 2.2km along the length of the prom.
