'Queens' theme to celebrate Platinum Jubilee
Douglas Borough Council's confirmed details about this year’s Carnival.
Following a three-year break, it's due to take place on Saturday, 23 July with the theme of the event being ‘Queens’, in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee.
Entrants can register via the local authority's website and are invited to explore the dress code as widely as they choose whether it be in homage to either her majesty, the rock band, or either dancing or drag queens.
The procession will also take a new route with performers travelling along Loch Promenade from the Bottleneck carpark to the new cultural area on Harris Promenade.
Anyone taking part will be automatically be entered into a competition and judged via 11 categories, which include a special Mayor’s Prize.
