Chris Thomas 'working towards' midday nomination deadline
A Douglas Central MHK has shared his manifesto outlining his agenda if he were to be elected chief minister.
Chris Thomas has represented the constituency since 2013, and is currently the only candidate to have publicly confirmed their interest in the role.
If elected, he says he'd provide a 'smaller, smarter, smoother government'.
Among his priorities are using the upcoming MONEYVAL evaluation to refresh the Island's economy, a more productive and accountable public service with priority-based budgeting, and housing.
Mr Thomas would also replace outgoing chief minister Alfred Cannan's plans for increasing the population with targeted demographic policies, including more local skills training and a better migration policy.
Nominations for the chief minister election close at midday today (Tuesday 6 October).
