Youths climbing cliff face at Port Jack prompts callout
Douglas Coastguard had to deal with three incidents yesterday afternoon within the space of four hours.
The first callout to an incident in Douglas Harbour didn't amount to anything, it says, while then came a call to respond to Laxey where a person had fallen from a coastal footpath, resulting in the individual being sent to Noble's emergency department for further treatment.
Lastly, coastguards were called to help after two youths became stuck whilst climbing the cliff face below the road at Port Jack.
One of the individuals managed to recover themselves, whilst officers had to repel down to rescue the other.
It says both were none the worse for their ordeal and have learnt a valuable lesson.
