Two seats could spark election
We'll soon know whether voters in the capital will have to go to the polls to replace two councillors.
Deadlines for nominations to stand for Douglas Council closed today.
There are two vacant seats - one in Murrays Ward and one in Victoria Ward.
The Murrays Ward seat was left empty when Bill Malarkey was elected to the House of Keys.
Meanwhile, Victoria Ward member Jon Joughin was forced to stand down after it was discovered he was no longer on the Island's voters list.
If an election is needed, will take place on Thursday, September 10.
