A Douglas Councillor says he's been told street lighting doesn't need planning permission.
It's after questions were raised about the new structure at the Sea Terminal, which is an illuminated sculpture of the three legs of Mann.
The £36,000 feature has replaced the previous street lighting on the roundabout.
