Douglas East MHK seeking re-election

Clare Barber to stand in September

A Douglas East MHK has announced her intention to stand for re-election in September.

Clare Barber has represented the constituency since 2016.

If elected, she says her core priorities are 'a stable economy, health and education, and national security, in the guise of safety, food, water and energy security''.

Clare says: "Representing the constituents of Douglas East, and serving our wider Island, over the past 10 years has been an incredible privilege and has allowed me insight into the many differing priorities that exist according to people's circumstances at a given time.

"It has been humbling to spend time supporting people often when they are at their most vulnerable, and to explore how best to assist people either through navigating existing systems or promoting change to policies or legislation where necessary."

Also standing in Douglas East are Joney Faragher, Dave Mackey and Andrew Saunders.

The General Election is taking place on Thursday 24 September.
