East Douglas hopefuls get the chance to impress
Douglas promenade, local government numbers, tourism and the cost of utilities and off-Island travel were some of the key issues raised at last night's Douglas East requisition meeting.
Around 50 people battled their way through the rain and gale-force winds to hear candidates Claire Bettison, Kurt Buchholz, Richard Falk, Jon Joughin, John McBride, Geraldine O'Neill and Cat Turner answer questions from the public.
The meeting was long, given the numbers involved, going on for around two hours.
There was a mixed reaction afterwards to the candidates' performances, judging by those who spoke to Manx Radio:
