Allegedly threatened family member with knife
A court's heard a Douglas man made threats to kill a family member after they gave him a lift home.
Thirty-eight-year-old Alistair John Cowin, of Taubmann Terrace, appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse via a video link from the Isle of Man Prison.
He faces two charges of making the threats on 29 July.
The hearing was told Cowin was being given a lift at 8pm when he's said to have begun making the threats.
It's alleged he drew a knife and told his victim he'd slit their throat before demanding to see their partner so he could kill them.
He's also alleged to have said he'd kill police officers as their children watched.
Mr Cowin was remanded in custody - he's next due to appear in court on 17 August.
