One thousand images found by police
A man from Douglas who had a thousand indecent images of children will appear in court again next month.
Forty-six-year-old Jonathan Heard of Loch Promenade appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
He admitted four allegations he possessed indecent images of children at his home on 8 October.
Prosecution advocate Roger Kane said police discovered 400 images on a hard drive and a further 600 on a mobile phone.
The hearing was told 26 more devices had been seized by police and are currently undergoing specialist examination.
Mr Kane said of the thousand still and moving images found so far, the vast majority were at the least serious end of the scale.
Magistrates told Heard he’d pleaded guilty to very serious charges and seemed obsessed with viewing indecent images.
They remanded him in custody, and he’ll appear again on 12 November.
