40-year-old admits possessing class A drug with intent to supply
A Douglas man will be sentenced later this year after being caught with more than £27,000 of cocaine.
Karl Bennett, of Cronk Grianagh Estate, was stopped by police on Ballaoates Road on 7 January.
The 40-year-old’s car was searched and 80.5 grams of the Class A substance was found in the centre console.
A further search of his home saw almost 200 grams recovered valued at more than £18,000.
At Douglas Courthouse this week Bennett pleaded guilty to possessing the drug with intent to supply.
Committal proceedings – where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery – were completed and Bennett will be sentenced at that court.
He’ll next appear there on 24 January.
There was no application for bail and he was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison.
Update: Bennett will next appear at the Court of General Gaol on 31 January 2025.
