Damage sustained to council-owned property
A Douglas man has been fined £600 after admitting destroying a door in a drunken rage.
Jonathan James Elliot, of Anagh Coar Road, also damaged a wall in the council-owned property in the early hours of Monday morning (20 May).
He pleaded guilty to the offences during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.
The court heard a neighbour called the police to raise concerns due to the presence of a baby in the property.
When officers arrived Elliot was said to be drunk and had superficial wounds on his chest; PAVA incapacitant spray had to be used to restrain him.
Ordering him to pay prosecution costs, and £500 in compensation to Douglas City Council, Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood described his behaviour as 'disgraceful'.
