Police found Smith hiding in her house with a knife
A Douglas man's admitted harrassing his ex-girlfriend.
Thirty-year-old Wayne Charles Lee Smith also pleaded guilty to a charge of provoking behaviour when he appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes yesterday.
Between 1 and 6 November last year, Smith repeatedly tried to contact his former partner through phone calls and text messages.
The court also heard how he set up multiple accounts on Facebook to get in touch with her.
The situation got so bad that she felt she had to leave her home address; but forgot to take her medication with her.
As police went to the address to pick it up for her, they heard footsteps coming from upstairs.
There they discovered Smith hiding in a wardrobe with a kitchen knife.
He told the officers he'd taken the knife to kill himself not his ex-girlfriend.
Mrs Hughes has adjourned the case until 1 February.
