Andrew Shimmin thought he was messaging twelve-year-old
A Douglas man’s appeared in court over explicit messages he thought he’d sent to a twelve-year-old girl.
Andrew John Shimmin of Viking Road appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.
At an earlier hearing, he’d admitted sending menacing messages via a telecommunications system.
A group of paedophile hunters in the UK set up a fake profile on Facebook claiming to be a twelve-year-old girl.
The court heard the 55 year old had sent messages to her, asking for photos and sending pictures of his penis.
Mrs Hughes adjourned the case and Shimmin was bailed in the sum of £500 to appear in court again on 17 December.
