Court heard 21-year-old lost university place as a result
A Douglas man has lost his place at university after being convicted of indecent assault.
Twenty-year-old Joshua Thomas Mills, of Hilltop View, was sentenced at Douglas Courthouse.
At an earlier hearing he admitted a single count of indecent assault on a staff member in a pub in Peel.
The court heard Mills was part of a cricket team and had gone drinking on 21 August last year.
He'd been extremely drunk when he groped the barmaid’s breasts later that night.
In a statement his victim said she was afraid she'd be assaulted again and hadn't received any help or support from her employer.
Mills was ordered to carry out 180 hours of community service and pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
He was also ordered to pay £1,000 to his victim in compensation.
