Janet Thommeny was elected into position six weeks ago
During her term as Douglas City mayor, Janet Thommeny says she hopes to inspire younger generations to get involved in politics.
It's six weeks since Miss Thommeny was unanimously voted into her role at an annual council meeting.
While she's attended a number of events, she told Manx Radio some of her goals while in office would be to focus on her charities, housing in Douglas and attracting the youth to politics:
