Monthly lunches with guest speakers highlighted as group looks to grow and welcome newcomers
Douglas Probus Club has launched a new campaign aimed at attracting additional members, with a particular focus on its regular lunch events featuring guest speakers.
The initiative comes as the club looks to expand its membership base and encourage more people to take part in its monthly gatherings at Douglas Golf Club.
At its most recent meeting in March, Club President Eddie Fisher formally welcomed three new members, describing the turnout as “fantastic” and expressing hope that more people will join future events.
The meeting featured a talk from Beach Buddies Founder Bill Dale, who spoke about the organisation’s development from a local initiative into an internationally recognised environmental charity.
Treasurer Howard Kelly delivered the vote of thanks following the presentation, which attendees described as informative and engaging.
The club says it is open to retired and semi-retired men of all ages, offering guest speakers, two-course lunches, and opportunities for social connection and discussion.
