Civil Defence called to help
A section of Douglas promenade has been closed as large waves have crashed onto the walkway and roads, causing damage.
Police have confirmed one vehicle was struck by the waves, and required rescue by the fire brigade - teams pushed a vehicle with a casualty in it, to safety.
Officers say the person 'sustained injuries and was dealt with by paramedics.
The stretch is shut from the Sea Terminal to Castlemona Avenue, next to the bottom of Broadway.
People are asked to avoid the area.
