Work at northern end to start soon
A decision on the refurbishment of the Douglas promenade and the location of the horse trams is not far away.
Work to repair the roadway at the north end will start soon - as the surface has fallen into complete disrepair.
Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer told Tynwald yesterday that there were two choices to be made; either to keep the horse trams in the middle of the carriageway, or move the rails to the sea side.
Mr Harmer says the easy fix is to maintain the status quo:
