Alfie Duggan says the decision hasn't been easy
A funeral director who planned to stand in the General Election in September has announced he's withdrawing from the contest.
Alfie Duggan previously put his name forward for Douglas South.
He says with limited time remaining, alongside the additional commitments and working full time, he cannot give the campaign the time and dedication it deserves, adding it's not been an easy decision but is the right and honest one.
"I strongly believe that if you put yourself forward for public office, you should be able to give the role and the people you hope to represent your very best. At this time, I do not feel I could do justice to the campaign in the way I would want to."
