And parents share their concerns as Island children go back for new term
A Douglas South MHK says she won't stop calling on the Department of Infrastructure to implement traffic calming measures near a primary school in her constituency.
Sarah Maltby and her political colleague Claire Christian have asked for something to be done near Scoill Vallajeelt on Meadow Crescent.
Today marks the start of the new school term with many families travelling to the school for the first time.
Mrs Maltby told Manx Radio if government is encouraging active travel more needs to be done to support it:
The safety of the roads around school sites around the Island has been a topic of discussion in recent months - with calls for 20mph zones around Ballakermeen High School.
