A man has been banned from the road for two years after admitting drug driving.
Mohammed El Guermat Bouchnafa, who is currently care of the Isle of Man Prison, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he entered a guilty plea.
The 26-year-old was stopped by police when driving off a Steam Packet vessel at the Sea Terminal on 25 July this year.
He failed a drug wipe test and was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters; blood tests showed he was over the legal limit for cannabis.
The court heard he'd smoked before taking the ferry that day, and the day before.
El Guermat Bouchnafa was fined £1,500 but will serve 75 days in default as he awaits separate criminal proceedings.
He'll also have to take, and pass, an extended driving test.
