Licences currently lapse after 10-year expiry
A Ramsey MHK is calling for a change in the law concerning driving licences.
Currently, Manx motorists can be disqualified from driving if their licence becomes more than ten years out of date.
Dr Alex Allinson will ask the Infrastructure minister if he will review the legislation, in today's sitting of Tynwald (Tues 19).
He says for people who are off-Island, working abroad, or ill for a long period of time, it doesn't seem very fair.
