Huff Post on possibility of Island legalising cannabis use
A review into government's policy on drug use has caught the attention of the international press.
News site The Huffington Post has penned an editorial this weekend suggesting the Island 'could become the first place in the British Isles to decriminalise cannabis'.
Government announced the review two months ago, after a reported spike in crime last year was attributed to a rise in cannabis-related prosecutions.
Ministers are quoted in the piece calling for an 'informed debate' with public input, but also emphasising it is 'too early' to say what conclusions might be drawn.
The article also brings attention to this suggestion from rockstar Mick Jagger, in an interview with CNN's Larry King in 2010.
