
Bring drugs to the Isle of Man, and you can expect a stiff jail term.
It’s a message usually promoted by police, but last week a court reaffirmed our tough sentencing policy when it said a cocaine supplier’s sentence wasn’t too harsh simply because he’d have served less time in the UK.
After a lengthy deliberation and review of Isle of Man sentences, the court dismissed Daniel Hamblett’s claim his six-year imprisonment was too long.
