Dr Kirsten Wafer discusses 'positive developments' during that time
A founder member of the Island's Drug and Alcohol team is retiring after 23 years service.
Consultant Psychiatrist, Dr Kirsten Wafer, has been instrumental in growing the unit from a team of three to its current staff of over twenty.
During her distinguished career Dr Wafer has seen the service develop with the addition of specialist clinicians, nurses and a doctor.
The growth in population has increased the team's workload, but Dr Wafer says a gradual erosion of the stigma attached with seeking help is a positive development:
