DEFA and fire service urging public not to start bonfires or controlled burns
The public is being urged not to start controlled burns or bonfires, to limit the workload on the emergency services and protect those suffering from coronavirus.
Fire crews were called to a gorse fire in Peel this morning, having also attended a grass fire in Douglas earlier this week.
The recent dry weather has left vegetation dry, increasing the risk of a controlled fire spreading.
Shaun Gelling from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says this isn't the time for such fires:
